Kikisweetpot delicious native Soup๐Ÿ˜‹


Hello foodhearts, believe me when I say this is about one of the easiest and quickest soup in Africa๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜€ my Port Harcourt people will surely relate. This soup has been saving life since 1450๐Ÿค” I used smoked cat fish but you can use fresh fish preferably and some snails also if they are available. In fact as much seafood as possible.


  • Smoked cat fish
  • Assorted meat
  • Stock fish
  • Shrimps
  • Prewinkles
  • Uziza leaf
  • Crayfish
  • Ground pepper
  • Onions
  • Palm oil
  • Maggi cube
  • Salt to taste

Water of course,๐Ÿ™„ essential.

PREPARATION; Wash assorted meat carefully to avoid any sand, cook in a pot with stock fish, add ground pepper, onions, a cube of maggi seasoning, salt to taste. Stir and when it’s steamed for a few minuites add about 2 cups of water to enable meat cook through.

When meat is almost cooked, add ground crayfish and pepper, add palm oil, add thickner and allow to cook together for about 5 minutes. Note that we dont want it too thick or too flooded, something in the middle. Now add smoked or fresh fish, stir carefully because we want our fish intact. Now taste for salt, or seasoning. Add your shrimps and other seafood if available. ย Let it come together, chop uziza leaf and sprinkle into your soup, add washed prewinkles, stir and bring down from heat after a minute or two.
